Hey, what did you  expect?
Robin VanHoozer has been decorating cakes since 1993. She was introduced to cake decorating more as an art form after visiting the 1998 Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On display were entries from some of the nation's best cake designers and sugar artists. She was hooked!
In 1999, Robin's first competitive entry won her a Bronze Certificate. The 3-tiered spiral of grand pianos has since become her signature cake, and has showed up in various international cake design magazines.
One of Robin's greatest joys comes from the opportunity to share what she has learned. She is an active member of ICES and has been a guest demonstator at various events.
Since then, Robin has pressed on to a improve her skills. She has had the benefit of instruction from some of the world's top sugar artists. Her commitment has resulted in a shower of awards and ribbons through the years. She nows competes in the Masters division.
Many of her cakes and sugar art displays have been shown on Food Network and have been published in popular magazines. The Jan/Feb 2003 issue of American Cake Decorating has her step-by-step instructions on how to create a top hat cake sitting on a champagne bottle. This is a technique she created.
